VodPod and httpS
-
I work in httpS on my blog. And VodPod just changed a vital function at their site. We are now forced to use their remote posting function so that a post must be written at their site and submitted from there. But the function wont work if ones blog is run in httpS.
This is unacceptable. VodPod is not our blogging platform. WordPress.com is. It’s WP’s domain. Not theirs.
Now Vod:Pod is a security risk if we can’t work in httpS anymore.
I also opened a thread about it in their forum and submitted a ticket to Vod:Pod support. But frankly this is also a matter for WordPress’ staff. For security reasons and because VodPod is trespassing into WP’s area. The remote posting used to be an option. Now we are forced to use it. And the function don’t even work properly. Besides: it’s not just for httpS users this is a problem. It’s a security problem in general that manual copy/pasting of the embed url is no longer possible.
This means that a third party will be doing all the video posting.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m doing what I can to lower my security settings to VodPod’s standard. I removed all https cookies. I changed security settings in IE8. I removed the check mark in WPs “always use httpS” and remembered to save them. Yet my admin pages still opens in httpS. What could I have missed?

Forget it. I have uploaded the video at another video site that is supported by WP. Bypassing VodPod. The way of the future.

NEWS: VodPod re-enabled all the old functions!
So I’ll continue to use it. This change was a disaster and I hope we’ll never se it again!
