Vodpod and YouTube
-
I’m trying to put a YouTube embed in the Vodpod sidebar widget. Embed is:
<object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qvcc8gpiHF8&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qvcc8gpiHF8&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="349"></embed></object>Tried using the Vodpod widget and that didn’t work, then tried to use the text/HTML widge and that doesn’t work either.
Please advise.
PS – if this can be done, I will reduce the size of the embed so it fits in the sidebar.

I don’t think you can do what you are trying to do. As far as I know the only way to post YouTube is this one: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/29/how-do-i-post-a-youtube-video/ or http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/05/26/using-vodpod-to-embed-video/

Oh, what a shame. When I added the vodpod widget and it said, “add just about any video…” that can be misleading because “any” can be construed as YouTube.
Anyway, thanks for your help on this.

If you want the video to show up in your sidebar, you have to include the video in your “Pod” and then put the VodPod widget in your sidebar.
Just about any video can be grabbed by VodPod and then displayed in your pod, which shows up in the sidebar widget.
