vodpod widget disappeared switching to Ocean Mist

  I just switched from Contempt to Ocean Mist and am thrilled with the new look, but my vodpod widget has disappeared from the sidebar. I didn’t change anything on the widget I was using with Contempt except the color, but the sidebar “gallery” disappeared and is replaced with a text link, “see all videos”. This links to my vodpod account page, but the random selection of videos is gone from the blog. Any ideas on how to fix? I tried removing the widget and moving it back, but no luck on that front.

  I’m not really familiar with vodpod, but just had a thought: Are there dimensions or a certain style that you were using with your previous theme? Maybe try changing dimensions or switching styles for the vodpod display widget and see if that brings it back?

  justjennifer, I tried going from the sidebar arrangement to the button for the vodpod display, but it didn’t help. This theme is pretty similar in layout etc to the one I switched from. Thanks for your ideas!

  I dunno opalescentwords, maybe its a vodpod error. The widget has some sort of cache

  maybe if you switch styles (boxy,elegant, etc) save the widget.
  than switch back to the style you wanted and saved again.

  also, if you re organize your video at vodpod and save,
  This will update the widget.

  that all i got.

  tried switching styles, widget format multiple times, tried the reorganizing thing, but no change on the blog. Thanks for sharing dlager :-)

  Any other suggestions from WP-land?

  After searching the forum under the vodpod tag, looks like there’s been intermittent problems for the past couple of weeks. This from just a couple of days ago:

  opalescentwords — looks as if your widget is working. have you made any changes?

  also, just to correct the record, we have not seen any general or intermittent problems with widgets the last few weeks (we’re all wordpress.com bloggers, too). they appear to be working fine across the board.
