vodpod widget missing

My vodpod widget disappeared. I checked in my presentation> widgets and it is listed where it should be. I tried removing it, saved changes then added it back, saved changes but that didn’t make any difference.
I’ve switched from IE to FireFox as I’ve heard so many say they liked it better and didn’t seem to be as much of a problem as IE. I do like it as it seems to run faster than IE but not sure why or what is causing the vodpod widget disappearing act mystery :?
You all do a great job and I know put in a lot of hours and hard work which is really appreciated. I just wanted to make a report so that it may help with a heads up.

Check again in a few minutes. I noticed all my videos on the blog were gone as well. They’re back now. Might have been a hiccup on YouTube’s part.

Thanks, will do……I guess the same thing must go for writing a post and the form for uploading a picture seems to come and go as it pleases. Just frustrating when trying to write a post and go to upload and like a magic disappearing act it was there but now it is gone so what started out to be a post is no longer as the important part of the post is not accessible so, no can do. Sigh :(

Same with my VodPod and Box.net. They keep disappearing, and when I go into Presentation->Widgets, I find they’ve slipped out of the sidebar setup and are resting at the bottom with the unused widgets. Have to reset things again then. This widget thing is beginning to get very boring.

My VodPod and TagCloud widgets have disappeared out of my sidebar twice, for no apparent reason. I have had to go to the Widgets panel and add them back to the sidebar.

Well gee, I checked it earlier and it was where it was suppose to be but I just went back and rechecked it and like you said, it had slipped out of the sidebar setup and was down with the unused widgets. So just in a matter of less than an hour it had gone from used to unused.
ARGH !!

Maybe no one had clicked on it and it was feeling lonely and wanted to go hide. :)

So, Dr. Mike, I might infer from your empathic connection with VodPod, that VodPod’s been feeling both used AND abused lately? Still, I must say that in the case of my blog, VP’s hiding out with some rather poor, indeed very shady, widget company, such as: Meebo, Sonific Songspot (ugh!), Tag Cloud (super ugh!) and Platial MapKit. And VP should definitely watch out for Askimet widget lurking around down there. As any attentive reader of the Forums knows, of late Askimet has been acting very strangely. Goodness only knows the kind of cyber-trash that Aski’s tried to let slip through my door lately….

Just curious, is there any resolution to this issue or are we dealing with some kind of ghost in the machine? I’ve spent enough time tweaking my side bars, I just want to write some posts and not be a liar when I tell people to check out the neat box.net thingy in the side bar –that isn’t there. Is it a problem with all themes? Will I wake up tomorrow and not have a header too (again)? Are my widgets sneaking out to party with disembedded’s Vod:Pod? I must put my foot down because I’ve got rules here that must be obeyed. Rules, I say.
Seriously, what gives?

My Tag Cloud keeps disappearing and I have to go add it to my side bar again in the presentation settings. There is obviously some bug. Please get it sorted!!

Nobody here will be able to sort it: it’s a back end issue and staff will have to do it. Alert them that they need to help by using your Feedback button and be as specific as you can with your request for help. Also, do it before Support closes for the weekend.

There appears to be a problem with disappearing widgets, again. As we volunteers answering questions do not have any information we do not know why this is happening. Please advise staff via a feedback.

Hi, I sent a report to Support yesterday (AM) and I got the following answer (PM) from Barry:
He had some problems with widgets earlier this week, but it was all fixed as of this morning. Can you please try re-placing the widgets in your sidebar and they should stay there. If not, please let us know.
It worked for me…. My Widgets are behaving now… :-)

My vodpod widget has disappeared. And it is nowhere to be found, also not with my unused widgets. Please help! Thanks

Same with me. The vod:pod is gone, and I completely dislike this as it was a great feature on my blog, drawing over 1,000 visitors a day. Please helpdesk, check this out.

Me too! Its disappeared altogether and it’s not in the selections box either for me to be able to slide it back onto sidebar, Hope its not got rid of all together and that this is just some temporary glitch!

This morning, vodpod widget disappeared, also from unused widgets. -
There’s another thread about this. There was apparently a problem on Vodpod’s side that forced them to remove it, but they’re expecting to have it back up and running very soon.
