VodPod widget not displayed properly on post pages

Hi all, I have 2 problems with the vodpod widget. On our main blog page, the widget is ok, although it used to be centered in the Sidebar and now it is not. Any way to fix that?

Also, when you click the title of our of our posts, the vodpod widget moves over to the bottom left side of the screen. See an example here:

Any help is greatly appreciated. We are seeing this behavior in both IE7 and FF3.

According to the W3C XHTML validator, there are a number of open tags on the main page. My first suggestion is to go to settings > writing and then select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and click “save changes.”

Next, open each post on your main page for edit and make one minor change (such as adding a space and then deleting it) and then click “update post.” WordPress should then fix the missing tags automatically for you.

If Safari 3, your main page completely blows up and about half of the posts are cut off on the right side. In Firefox 3, it doesn’t show all the problems.

    Hi SJC Trainers,

It looks like the problem is that your AddThis button is including an extra closing </div>. This has the effect to closing the sidebar early, which then renders the Vodpod widget outside of the sidebar. Try removing those AddThis buttons, see if it works, and then maybe re-add them.

Thanks for the help Spencer and thesacredpath. I removed the extra </div> from the addthis button text in the sidebar and the alignment is now fixed for the vodpod widget. I will turn on the WP feature to auto correct invalid xhtml and check the posts as suggested.

I don’t have access to safari and am not too concerned about viewing it in safari since we are primarily concerned about only users within our College viewing the pages in IE and FF. The blog is not ‘public’ per say.

    Thanks for the help!
