W-9 Form for WordPress

    Dear WordPress,

    I need to set WordPress up as an approved vendor to purchase a eCommerce plan for our website. To do that, I need a copy of your W-9 form.

    We’re happy to provide such form. However, we need to know the address of your site. Our eCommerce plan is only available for sites that are hosted by us (WordPress.com). If your site is hosted elsewhere, then you need to request such form from your hosting provider.

    Hello!

    I plan to purchase the eCommerce plan – the website will be hosted by WordPress.com at that time. I can’t purchase the eCommerce plan until WordPress.com is setup as an approved vendor in our system. Thank you for the help!

    If this is the case, we’ll be at a catch-22. My organization will not be able to authorize a transaction until we have WordPress setup as an authorized vendor. That requires the W-9 in advance.

  • Our policy is to only offer a W-9 after a transaction has been completed with a major credit card or PayPal.

    I understand. Without a W-9, I will be unable to purchase anything from WordPress.com. I can’t establish WordPress.com as an approved vendor without the form. Before we take our business elsewhere, I just want to clarify there is no exceptions to your policy?

    Hey there I am actually needing this same document for our purposes at a high school. Our school newspaper is ran through your website but our director is wanting to upgrade a few things. To do this with our district’s policy, I am needing a W-9, so that we can make the credit card purchase for the upgrades.

    As also stated above by another member, and other forum discussions that I have read, we cannot make the purchase without the W-9. We are an educational institution and policies and procedures are in place that I cannot surpass. We cannot make a purchase without the company being a vendor in our system.

    If you would like to email me personally instead of on this forum I can provide extra documents and details, including the specific website we are planning to upgrade, it is not the one connected to my profile. We also have other campuses in our school district that would like to do the same thing.
