Wacky WordPress.com lets me login but does not let me access my site!

Back in 2006 I registered to a blog at globalsense.wordpress.com. I never used the blog because I set up a wordpress installation at my own hosted website: globalsense.com

HOWEVER: Now I want to reactivate globalsense.wordpress.com, and the wacky wordpress.com website is acting so haywire that I’m totally frazzled from hours of attempting to access my old site today.

Using my old admin mail address, I can login to the site, and I have even been able to reset my username and gravitar, but when I go to make a post, it defaults to a screen asking me to name my blog, but when I input “globalsense.wordpress.com” it tells me the the name is already taken EVEN THOUGH I AM LOGGED INTO THAT EXACT BLOG.

You can tell how frustrated I feel by the fact I am shouting in all caps!

Can someone please tell me how to reclaim my own blessed blog? I have spent several hours trying numerous variations to get access, but the same loop keeps repeating itself. I cannot get access the site that I am logged into. This is really crazy-making. Who can tell me what obvious thing I must be missing.

    Thank you,
    Judah

    Hi,
I’m not sure what might have caused the problem you’ve described, but I have some questions that might help to identify, or at least narrow down the search for, the cause.

    1. Is your WordPress.com site connected to you self-hosted site?
    2. Do you have multiple WordPress.com sites?
    3. Which WordPress.com site is your primary website in the account?

You may identify the primary website on the account, and update it, at Account Settings or at Personal Settings. If you can visit and edit the Personal Settings page, you should also be able to visit the classic dashboard at https://globalsense.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php, and open a new post editor by going (in the admin panel) to Posts > Add New.

This account fssc was registered in 2009.

Was the original username account globalsense (registered in 2006) and can you log in to WordPress.com from that account?

    Thank you, musicdoc1 and justjennifer.

After you both put me on the right track, I went back into the 2006 archive and found the admin login for globalsense.”] Thanks so much!
