Waited 60 Days for Domain Name Switch and Still Not Working….

    Hello,

    Could use your help. Upgraded a few months ago and have tried to upgrade the domain name…..

    it has been http://www.one2onetraining.wordpress.com

    It said to wait 60 days to use the new chosen domain…..

    http://www.one2onetraining.com

    Under the “Domain” category the new one is now available and I have tried to switch over. However when I go to use it, GoDaddy appears and says that the domain name expired on 4/30 and is pending renewal or deletion.

    Could you please advise?

    Do you think I should leave the old domain name up for now? I don’t want to lose viewers. But also don’t want to lose the new domain if I switch off of it. Any suggestion?

    I am seeing that one2onetraining.com was mapped here (meaning it was set to point to a WordPress.com site), but it was not registered here.

    You will need to renew the domain as your registrar in order to use it with your WordPress.com site.

    Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

    I’m sorry I don’t know the difference. I paid for the upgraded service here almost 3 months ago but have not been able to upgrade my site. I waited patiently for the 60 days per instruction. This is a very unclear process and it is difficult to get any sort of professional response.

    How do I “renew the domain as my registrar”? There are no links for that on my Domain page….

    Is there any way to get someone on the phone to clear this up? If I can’t get my site transferred I am going to ask for my money back.

    one2onetraining.com – is currently owned by a Jason that lives in Canada through a registrar in Australia

    The renewal would have needed to be done with the registrar, WordPress.COM is not set up for incoming domain name transfers and they can’t renew a domain name that is not registered with them

    Note that domain mapping and domain registration are two different items

    Exactly, Auxclass is correct. You will need to log into your registrar (assuming that you are the “jason” who has ONE2ONETRAINING.COM registered) in order to renew.
