  Hello,

  On average, how long does it take Administration to implement the changes you make to your blog so that they show up on your blog as the public sees it? Days? Weeks?

  What particular changes are you referring to?

  And please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here – or link your nickname to your blog as explained in the Sticky “8 Things to Know“. We often need that to give a relevant answer.

  As you have not provided a url I have no idea if you are referring to a free hosted wordpress.COM blog or a self hosted wordpress.ORG install

  Should be immediate. What exactly have you tried that doesn’t show up? (For instance, categories won’t display in the sidebar unless there are posts assigned to them.)

  The categories and tags will not show up until you publish a post that you have assigned them to. If you do not assign categories and tags to your posts they will not appear in the wordpress.com global tag pages.

  By “assigned to” do you mean checking the appropriate box? Maybe I missed that step. I did press the Publish button. Thanks.

  “Yes” that’s what I meant. It’s a common mistake. Please edit and enter check off the categories and insert the tags and then click “Publish” again.

  OK, thanks. But why the difference between the blog as I view it from my dashboard and the blog as the public views it when you enter WordPress from the outside and search for my name?
