waiting 1 hour for forgotten password email

The blog i need help with is http://identitysander.wordpress.com/ (pause for the irony). I am just about 99% sure I have the right password, but it says it’s not. So I clicked to have the password emailed to me. It’s been over an hour and it has not shown up. I was able to register this new account with the same email account (using the gmail + address trick) and get those emails in moments.
If this long of a wait is normal, then no worries. But I feel like there may be something wrong. Before shutting down last night, I did mess around a bit with my “nickname” what name should show up on posts and things. Maybe that broke something? I’ve tried logging in with a variety of things that may correspond to those changes with mo luck. I also went through the send password prompts and put the email instead of the username just in case as well.
Any help appreciated.

Check your ISP email system spam folder to make sure the email has not gotten caught in their spam filter – this sometimes happens.

Also, are you sure you are checking the correct email account? The email it would have been sent to is the email that you used to set up the account (would have been listed under settings > general in the dashboard).

it’s a gmail account and I’m actively sending and receiving other notes, so I don’t think it is that. been watching spam like a hawk just in case as well. and i got a comment moderation notification at the same address about 40 minutes before i went to log in – that’s why i was logging in, in fact. so i’m pretty sure it’s the right address.
