waiting for r-login.wordpress.com
-
When I am logged in to wordpress my browser cannot load many wordpress pages (including my own page, innovatekids.com). Instead, it keeps trying to load and the message at the bottom says, “waiting for r-login.wordpress.com”. I have cleared my cache and cookies, and I’ve tried using IE, Firefox and Chrome, and on different computers, and the same issue keeps cropping up. What should I do?

Can you try logging into WordPress.com using the secure (https) alternative, here:

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately logging in using https didn’t fix the issue. Any other ideas?
-
This also affects me visiting other pages built upon wordpress, e.g. nbcsports.com and eatocracy.cnn.com

I’m afraid it’s still doing the same thing. I can only access my page if I’m not logged in to wordpress. Any other ideas?

Can you try checking if third–party cookies are enabled?
If they are, who is your ISP and whereabouts (geographic location) are you accessing WordPress.com from?
Are you trying to visit WordPress.com from home, work, or school?
I have cleared my cache and cookies, and I’ve tried using IE, Firefox and Chrome, and on different computers, and the same issue keeps cropping up.
Can you try from a different location with a different ISP to narrow down an ISP issue?
-
I’ve tried accessing it at work and at home. At home my ISP is verizon and at work we have Time Warner. I checked and third-party cookies are enabled. Sorry that it’s such a conundrum

At http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/ do you definitely see “Great, third party cookies are properly enabled in your browser!” in green?

Ok, one more thing to try. Please try switching your DNS over from Verizon to OpenDNS: https://store.opendns.com/setup/computer/
(Just ignore that ‘store’ subdomain. Their service is free with premium add-ons, like ours, but the setup instructions are under the store for some reason.)
-
Also, after the switch, you may need to clear your computer’s DNS cache: http://www.opendns.com/support/article/68
-
No luck. I switched over to open DNS, and cleared my DNS cache, and it said that everything was configured correctly, but no luck on viewing my site while logged in.

Is this the only site you’re having trouble with? Have you noticed any other oddities with Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc?
-
I haven’t had any problems with google or twitter. It seems to only affect pages utilizing the wordpress platform (nbcsports, various cnn pages), and every time I log out of my wordpress account they revert to working well.
It’s all pretty strange!
-
I’m unable to reproduce the issue under your account, so it does not appear to be a problem on our end.
Are you running any internet security software, ad blockers, firewalls, anti-virus apps, etc? If so, would you please try with those temporarily disabled?
-
Actually I just switched security software and the problem appears to be taken care of. Thank you for all your help! It is greatly appreciated!
