‘waiting for s2.wordpress.com’ – nothing happens

    trying to get into my wordpress.com blogs to edit them and the browser hangs on ‘waiting for s2.wordpress.com’ after i log in and click on a link in the ‘your blogs’ list. this happens for all my blogs. sometimes it gets to ‘read.wordpress.com’ but no further i am using firefox with gears/turbo, the same happens in IE. weirdly a colleague here using a mac and safari gets the same problem. we have tried logging on from a different location/network. trying to access support.wordpress.com also yields sever delay problems

    i am in mendoza, argentina – a colleague in london uk can log in fine. all other sites i try from here (youtube, gmail with gears etc) here seem to work fine, nice and quick with no hitches

    any suggestions?

    It has happened on and off with s1 for me the past few days. I think it’s something very temporary.

    I just looked at the internet “Network overview” and there are quite a few places around the world that have network routers down – more than normal it seems. I don’t know if they are down because of failures, or if they are on scheduled maintenance or what. The report doesn’t give that information.

    thanks guys – wordpress is very very slowwwwwww here although, as i say all other types of sites are working absolutely fine. have a big job to do in a weeks time requiring live updates from a conference in chile – let’s hope it isn’t happening then

    any suggestions as to what i coudl do to get around this – or is it a suck it and see ? if i go in through m.wordpress.com does that use the same servers?

    so have been trying to find a way around this –

    m.wordpress.com works fine for basic posts etc
    posting to these forums also works fine
    if you leave a wordpress.com dashboard long enough some of it loads but it is all very messy
    colleagues in london uk report no problems and think i am going mad here in argentina

    so there is something weird going on in the network that is slowing horribly ‘full fat’ traffic from the main wordpress servers to me here in argentina – where all other regular websites are working absolutely fine
