Want a Semi-Static Front Page
-
I’m looking to change a few things about my site. Namely, I want to improve the readability of my posts. Right now, the entirety of every post is displayed on my front page. I am trying to figure out how to put a snippet of my posts on my front page with a “continue reading” link somewhere. I don’t know if this is something that is theme-specific or what, but I’d truly be grateful for any help that can be thrown my way.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. You can do this by adding the more-tag to your posts. Edit each post and insert the tag at the point where you want the preview to cut off. You can insert the tag via an icon on the visual editor toolbar, so you don’t need to mess about with code unless your posts start behaving weirdly (see below). http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ Remember to update your posts after inserting the tag.
Make sure you always insert the more-tag on its own line and that you don’t have any formatting like alignment or bold, italics, etc. active when you insert it. Applying formatting to the more-tag can lead to unexpected results in the rest of your post. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2008/08/21/avoiding-the-more-tag-woes/
