want a username that is taken, but shut down.can i retrieve it for my new blog?

  I would like to start a blog with username Sunshinedesign. It says that its taken. when I try to go to the site, I see that its shut down. can I get the name…..? Thanks, Diane Baker (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  would like to switch(recent activation) name (sunshinedesignnc) to sunshinedesign… previous authors have deleted the site, but when I tried to use it, it said it was taken. any way to get it activated for my use? thanks

  No. WordPress.com does not recycle urls. Once deleted is gone forever.

  You can try using an alternate spelling or adding a number.

  Or you can purchase domain mapping if the domain sunshinedesign is available as .com .org .net etc.
