Want large-ish sideshow in sidebar

I had been using the photo widget, which displayed a beautifully big photo in my right sidebar. Wanted to change that photo to a slideshow, and used the gallery widget to do so – but photos are now tiny. Is there a way to enlarge the gallery box, or is there another widget that will allow me to run a slideshow in the sidebar with larger photos? Thanks in advance.
