Want my cancelled/refunded domain name back

  Hi,

  I had a new domain registered through wordpress. I thought I did things backwards and decided to cancel it (within the 48 hours) but immediately regret it.

  Is there any way to get it back now? How long till it will re-appear for purchase?

  You can cancel a domain registered through WordPress.com within two days of purchase and receive a full refund. After cancellation, there is no guarantee the domain will become available to register somewhere else and you may not be able to get it back.

  Sometimes the staff can retrieve a canceled domain name – other times they can’t – sometimes the name reverts back to the wild for anyone to purchase in a few weeks (depends on the registrar) – other times someone else grabs the name

  No problem.

  Now, it may take a day or two for your domain to properly update and start working again. But you own it again. So do not worry about that.

  Ok I’ll keep an eye out for that.

  Separate from this issue: I can’t add any plug-ins. Is that a premium feature or am I missing something here?

  While plugins are common on self hosted WordPress sites, due to security concerns, they are not available on WordPress.com. There is more info regarding WordPress.com and plugins here:

  However, we do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/

  I suppose I was confused between the .com and .org sites. I’m having a hard time determining the best theme for me. I’d like to show photos of things I make and also let people contact me with product inquiries.

  Finding the right theme can be difficult. But I’ll keep looking!

  Any suggestions on free themes would be great!
