Want my favicon to appear on masked domain. How?
-
Hey, I uploaded a favicon to my WordPress site, and it works fine, except for one crucial thing. I am forwarding from another domain name, with masking. Trouble is, my favicon does not appear when the masking is being used. In other words, if I go straight to the WordPress domain name, you can see the favicon with no problem; when you go to masked domain, the favicon isn’t there. How to change that?
Thanks much for any suggestions

Hello there,
I’m sorry but other than pointing you to this support documentation I’m afraid I cannot help you > http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/ -
Thanks. As you seem to suggest, that page does not answer the question, but I appreciate your responding.

We recommend not masking the domain as things such as the favicon and other admin functions may not work properly.
However, you would need to add a favicon manually to the page that is used to setup the mask. Contact whomever helped you setup the masking for options. They may or may not have a way for you to do it.

Thank you designsimply. When I talked to GoDaddy (through which I bought the other domain name) they referred me back to WordPress. But I can ask them again. I appreciate it.

I’d recommend using the actual domain mapping upgrade then. It sounds like GoDaddy may not have the option for you. When domain masking is used, it’s often with a frame and the frame surrounding the site would need to add the proper code in the html header for it to work. (If I understand how masking works that is.)
