Want my username and site back.

I used to have the username “mjanetmars” and the site “mjanetmars.wordpress.com” about 7 years ago. The system tells me the username doesn’t exist, yet I’m unable to take it back, or sign in into it, or change this temporary username back to it. Now, the mjanetmars.wordpress.com blog, I deleted that one years ago, yet I’d like to be able to take it back. Is any of this possible? I don’t wanna have to change my username or handle because I use it professionally. Do I have any options?

Once you’ve deleted your site, it’s not possible to get it back.

You’ve tried logging in to WordPress.com using “mjanetmars” and your original password – what sort of error message do you get when you do that?

Well, I don’t really care about the site anyway.
Now, about the username— when I try to sign up by using any of my old passwords, it tells me the username is invalid. When I try to reset the password, it tells me it isn’t “able to find a user with that login information.” So I can’t access the account in any way.

(*When I try to sign in. Also, I made mjanetmars.wordpress.com with *another* account, which wasn’t “mjanetmars”, so I don’t even know why the username is withheld by the system. I had the same problem years ago, and it doesn’t seem like anyone made an account using that name either.)

But you don’t remember what username you used to create mjanetmars.wordpress.com? Maybe this info will help:

I’ve been able to access the account I used then, but there’s no sign of the username “mjanetmars” being in any way related to it, if it ever existed at all.
AGAIN: I can’t even get the password reset for username “mjanetmars” to work, since it doesn’t exist as an account, yet I can’t change my current username to that one either, because the other part of the site tells me it actually exists. It’s not linked to any of my other accounts, so what’s it linked to then?

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.

No, I have not been answered here.
FORGET ABOUT THE SITE. I know the site (mjanetmars.wordpress.com) is gone. I don’t care.
Now: I can’t gain access to the “mjanetmars” username because the system of wordpress.com is telling me that there’s no “mjanetmars” account. But I can’t change my current username to mjanetmars either, because somehow then there IS a username for “mjanetmars”.
So what is it? Does it exist or does it not? Why can’t I recover the password from it? If it doesn’t exist, why is it withdrawn then?
UNDERSTAND: I CAN’T RECOVER THE PASSWORD FOR USERNAME “MJANETMARS” BECAUSE THERE IS NO USER “MJANETMARS” YET SOMEHOW I CAN’T CHANGE MY USERNAME EITHER BECAUSE THERE IS A USER “MJANETMARS.

Username accounts are not deleted here http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ and, in fact, you are posting from the username account https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/mjanetmars404 now.
You cannot register any deleted blog URL. Deleting any .wordpress.com blog URL is not easily done and what you ask to do is not possible. One has to ignore at least three warnings stating that deletion is permanent and irreversible and then click a verification link in an email to delete a blog. That’s because deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Forget about mjanetmars.wordpress.com. For the third time: I deleted it myself. It’s gone forever. I know this. FORGET ABOUT IT.
I want to change my current username, AKA “mjanetmars404” to “mjanetmars.” I can’t, because WP.com says it already exists. Now, I can’t recover the password, or access in any way “mjanetmars” either, because WP.com says it doesn’t exist.

As I said above, this thread is tagged for Staff and what’s required now is your patience as Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in chronological order based on datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.
How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.
Please don’t bump your thread here by posting into it again because it’s not in your best interest to post to it after it has been tagged for Staff help. Doing that moves the timestamps forward and it takes longer to get a response.
