Want only one page to display Posts and sidebar
-
Hi Everyone –
Using CSS, I’ve created a 90% static page site that I’m very happy with. Unfortunately, I want all the features of a blog (commenting, categories, last post, etc.), but on just ONE page…the page set aside for the blog. I don’t want any of the “trim” showing up on what are otherwise static pages. The CSS overrides seems to be all-or-nothing.
Any thoughts on how I might “allow” blog items to appear but just on one page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First off, you need to put the footer wordpress and theme credits back into the footer of the site. It is against the terms of service to hide those.
Comments, can be turned off page by page from the editor, or by bulk editing from pages > all pages. Go to pages > all pages and select “edit” in the bulk actions pulldown, select each page you do NOT want comments on and then click the “apply” button and then select to disallow comments and save.
In the page editor go to screen options and select to show the “discussion” module (wordpress will remember this setting). The when you create new pages you can disallow comments and trackbacks when creating the page in the discussion module.
In most of the newer themes, they are pretty rich in CSS selectors, so you can target individual pages, or types of pages. Since I don’t see a “posts” or “blog” page on your site at all, I can’t really go forward with help on the CSS. Also I need to know what exactly you are talking about when you say “trim”.
