Want Sidebar Widgets not footer widgets

  I want widgets on the sidebar not the footer. How can i change that?

  We cannot edit templates or themes. This is the Chunk theme description and it reveals that there are only footer widgets provided by the theme. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/chunk/

  The CSS upgrade cannot be used to add a sidebar to pages which do not have one already. That would require hacking of the underling PHP script files, which we cannot do on free hosted WordPress.com blog .
