Want to activate www.CityChurch.Community to replace a website I have with GoDad

  I have a domain – http://www.citychurch.community, that I want to convert to wordpress blog. My present active blog is http://www.ApostolicAlignment.com. I want to ADD the new one. It shows up in your file but not on the internet. I want to eliminate my present GoDaddy website with that domain and convert it to a blog. How?

  I am almost 80 and techno-illiterate. Thanks for your help.

  Howdy Don,

  Just to be clear, citychurch.community is going to be a separate site from ApostolicAlignment.com. Is that correct?

  If so, the first step would be to create a new blog following the instructions here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/create-a-blog/#adding-new-blog-to-an-existing-account

  Then, you’ll want to follow the instructions here to map the domain to your new blog:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Can you give that a try?

  Jeremy, If you go to donatkin.wordpress.com, it will open to http://www.citychurch.community, but it isn’t posting on the internet. It is listed along with apostolicalignment.com. I am in the process of building the site, but don’t know how to get it online.

  If I follow your directions I run into a bottleneck on the address.

  Hi Don,

  It doesn’t look like you’ve “mapped” the domain citychurch.community to the WordPress.com blog donatkin.wordpress.com just yet. In order for the site to be live at that address, you will need to follow the instructions here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Since you’ve already purchased the Premium bundle (which includes a custom domain) for that blog, you shouldn’t be asked to pay anything additional.

  I’ve mapped citychurch.community, and now when I try to go to that site I get kingdomalignment.com.

  Hi,

  It looks like you mapped the domain to kingdomalignment.wordpress.com instead of donatkin.wordpress.com. I went ahead and moved the domain over to the correct blog for you. I also refunded the $13 charge for the domain mapping as the domain is included in the cost of the Premium bundle.
