want to add a population concept to my blog

    I would like to add a “widget” or “plug in” that would retrieve the world population data when the home page loads, divide that number by 1 million, and display the result. So the text on my home page would read “If you are One in a Million, there are x people exactly like you.”
    I really like this concept, and I used it before on a Moveable type blog I had, but now I am unable to duplicate it in the wordpress environment.
    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
