Want to add an image above header on main page?

  I am using “Black Splat WR 1.7 by Anonymous” here at http://stogiebrew.com I want to remove the yellow “splat” and add an image which is hosted on the blog. I tried for hours to edit the code. I did figure out how to remove the splat. Now it loads funny in IE7, well it did. I reverted back to the original code for the theme. How do I insert the pic, make it clickable, and remove the “splat” at the same time?
