want to add CHIPIN.com widget – dont get it
-
I totally do not know how to add a CHIPIN.com widget…. it says:
Note that the widget will not work on hosted WordPress blogs (blogs at yourname.wordpress.com), as widgets are not allowed there.ok, what other kind of wordpress is there besides one hosted at wordpress?
my blog is http://www.BringHomeLulu.com

You can read the sticky at the top labeled “Please read me first before posting” to get the full explaination. Basically if you are self-hosted then you need to be over at http://wordpress.org
Here at wordpress.com you cannot install you own plugins or themes. To understand why I will point you to that same sticky post at the top of the forum page. -

Now that one IS in the FAQ right here:
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/07/can-i-migrate-my-blog-from-here-to-another-blog-somewhere-else/This should get you started, but there are several threads in the forum on details regarding how to migrate from wordpress.com to wordpress.org:
-
I need to firgure out how o host it elsewhwere, I already have a host elsewhere, but i dont understand how to move my current blog there
-
No. The multiuser version of the wordpress software run on the dot com side does not allow for that. To have that flexibility you have to host the site yourself by going over to the dot org site and downloading the software and hosting the blog yourself.
You can, however, send in a feedback request (dashboard > Feedback button on the top right) and ask the support team, giving them links to the widget, reasons why you think it would be good to include it here, etc (the more details the better). They will then look at it and send you back an answer.

Another user (nod to timethief) here has put together a very good post about moving your blog. You may want to check that out. I have never done it personally and I will leave any further details to the others here in the forum.

One other thought. If you wanted, you could just add a sidebar link to your chipin.com page and keep your blog here.
I didnt see this forum topic first time around:
