Want to add image to shared blog post on Facebook

  i want to add a picture to the link i post to my blog on Facebook – it just shows a blank white square where an image should be. i can’t upload my own plug in to site, so how do i get an image there? i want people to click on my blog post, and people like pretty pictures

  Your site is missing a Blavatar which is your Blog Icon. Your Blavatar is always used when sharing your blog’s main page on Facebook. Please follow steps below in order to set up a Blavatar for your site:

  One last but very important thing! Once you set up your Blavatar and try to share your site on Facebook, you won’t see a thumbnail right away. This has something to do with Facebook Cache. Cache is a component that stores data so future requests for that data can be served faster; the data stored in a cache might be the result of an earlier computation. That means that If you tried to share your site on Facebook when it didn’t have Blavatar yet, Facebook remembered that link and saved it’s preview in it’s cache. Every time you would try to share the link again (even if the content of it had been changed – e.g. added Blavatar), Facebook wouldn’t see the change and will just fetch the original link preview (without Blavatar) from cache.

  However, there is a way to fix it. Go to this Facebook Debug link:

  https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/

  You will need to type your site URL and press “Fetch New Scrape Information” button. By doing so, Facebook will update it’s cache and the changes made to the content of the link will be reflected from that point on.

  Performing all the steps above should fix your thumbnail issue.
