I know it’s here somewhere, but i cannot find how to add the RSS button to my sidebar so visitors can subscribe. Sorry for the newbie question.

Sorry, not working. I typed in the instructions — not in the top line of Text but the box below — hit Done, and Saved changes. In the sidebar, the blue ? box appears. Again, what I want is for visitors to subscribe to my blog via RSS. And I’m not sure how/why the varieties of icons can be selected. Suggestions?

That link I gave you should work.
Here is what you should put in a text widget in your sidebar:
<a href=”http://roberthyndman.wordpress.com/feed”><img src=”http://faq.files.wordpress.com/2006/11/c141.png” /></a>Simply change
http://faq.files.wordpress.com/2006/11/c141.pngif you want different colored feed icons.

Oops, Sorry…This is easier on the eyes:
<a href=”http://roberthyndman.wordpress.com/feed”><img src=”http://faq.files.wordpress.com/2006/11/c141.png” /> Subscribe to RSS Feed</a>You can change the text “Subscribe to RSS Feed” to whatever you want. The
is a space to separate the icon from the text. -
Dang it. I’ve done it 3 times, and the Subscribe to RSS Feed shows up as a blue link with no RSS icon.

hrm… i’ve been trying this with nothing but problems. Either it doesn’t show up at all, or when it does- i click, try to subscribe, and the blog doesn’t shows up on the Google reader (only says that an error occurred). Sigh.

Could you be more specific about the trouble you’re having? What exact URL are you using for your feed? What does the failure look like? Is there an error notice?
-
trying to use the medium red rss button…it’s at the bottom of my side bar…just says rss feed…this is what is says in error
Looks like you have a problem here sir/madam. You sure you have the right place? Maybe you got a little lost? Maybe you’re looking for something you’re not supposed to find? Either way, just go search for it, it can’t hurt.

Excessive questions annoy me :|
Anyways your feed url has the ” at the end of the url, remove that and it work properly.

It was way at the bottom of the page as like a tiny little link, and it would have worked if you just removed the ” from the RSS link that you created.
