Want to buy my name to get rid of wordpress.com but it won't work

    Aloha,

    I must admit, I’m new to wordpress so I don’t know the ins and outs. I created my blog with the intention of eventually buying the name “keikisdayout.com” instead of keikisdayout.wordpress.com. I went to try to buy it (the $17 option) and it said something about the hostname. I google searched Keiki’s Day Out and KeikisDayOut and tried keikisdayout.com so I don’t think it’s taken. How do I find out why I can’t buy my domain name?

    Please be kind if I’m asking an obvious question, I’m not sure what I’m doing.

    Can you tell us which way you went to set up your mapped domain? There are various ways to do this, such as for people that already have the domain from another registrar, and for people that run their own name servers or use a different registrar’s DNS. This can get complicated. So being more detailed about what you did try can better lead us to say what you need to do different.

    Are you following these instructions exactly? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/ what exact error message are you getting?
