    Are you trying to close your account?

    You can close your account from the Account Settings, but first, you need to cancel active purchases. Here’s a guide on how to do it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/close-account/

    There are not any upgrades associated with the account in use here. Currently you are signed in to americanmannyc –

    I can see that there’s a custom design upgrade on adamberlin.wordpress.com. That’s owned by a different account though. Please sign in to adamberlin account and write back to me here.

    Otherwise I’ll need to know which site the upgrade is connected to in order to find the right account.

    Hi,

    I owned that account but can’t log onto it–adamberlin.com. Every time I try to log on I get switched to americanmannyc. I cancelled both accounts, or so I thought. I don’t use wordpress for my webpage anymore so I want to discontinue the account (I thought I had!) and obviously get rid of the upgrade.

    Whatever you can do to help would be great–I’ve been stuck in a never-ending circle with this for much of the day.

    Then log back in again, but be sure to type your username “adamberlin” rather than signing in with Gmail?

  • Noting too, if you’ve forgotten the password for adamberlin, you can reset it while logging in. Or, if you’ve lost access to the email, too, we can help you regain it because you’ve paid for upgrades in the past.

    Hi again–I’ve tried everything you’ve suggested but it keeps getting circled around to myamericanman and not my adamberlin.com account. I have a transaction ID and plugged that in, but again, the site didn’t take me anywhere after I filled out that page. I am happy to give you that transaction ID number so you can cancel the account and the upgrade charge that will be charged to my account on Nov. 8. As you can guess, this all seems absurd since the account no longer exists as I see it–I’m being charged for an upgrade on an account I cancelled. Thanks for your help.

  • Hi there,

    The adamberlin does still exist – that username account has never been cancelled and owns both the upgrade on your site as well as the site itself. Your americanmannyc account is just an admin on the site, not the owner.

    I have disabled automatic renewal on that site’s upgrades and sent an email to the account owner via the email address we have on file for that account.

    But we cannot cancel the upgrade, delete the site or close the account at your request under any circumstances. Only someone logged into the adamberlin account can do that. If you don’t remember your login details for that account, our account recovery form is the only way to regain access.
