want to change blog template
-
I have changed from a basic wordpress blog to a custom wordpress blog. I have not blogged since, because of the way the format chops off my photos to fit the new format. I had a designer change it whois not interested in finding me another format, she has moved on… what is involved, I have about 120 posts with images and recipes. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For http://italianhandful.com, you can browse our options of themes at https://italianhandful.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php and select one that looks good to you.
Our themes try to use your images in a good way, though a change in theme can require some tweaks for it to look right.
Is there a particular theme that looks good to you?

I am currently using Sight which crops off my featured pictures. Can it be tweaked to include my whole photo?
I like the moving feature but as I looked for another with the rotating feature they all seem to do that. Is there a moving theme that uses the whole photo?
As a photographer I crop before I download to the media library.
Writing and photos is my goal.
I am thinking about Zoren (alternative non-moving)— but dread having to input everything again for the different categories.
Thank you. -
Hi,
You won’t need to re-enter categories—what you have made now will “stick” and the menus will carry over from theme to theme.
The featured image will use the size indicated on the theme’s info page. Most themes have the size listed — http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sight/ (near the bottom in specs) has 640×290 size for the featured image (290 height always used, width variable with 640 ideal).
My suggestion is you may want to upload a separate version of the image specifically for the featured image to ensure it is exactly how you’d want it to appear.
Cheers!
