Want to comment on blog I'm following; why aren't I allowed to?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have 2 wordpress blogs. The other one is “sunshinebright.” I logged out of “sunshinebright” and signed into “pussycats3” so that I could comment on a blog I’m following using “pussycats3.” My comment is not allowed. A window pops up, telling me I’m trying to comment using the “sunshinebright’s” email address.

I have no idea why this is happening, since I have signed out of “sunshinebright” and signed into “pussycats3.”

I need help with this problem.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Which blog was it that you were trying to comment on? If you could provide the full URL (starting with “http://” I’ll be happy to take a look at it for you.

    Thank you much!

I’m afraid that you cannot attach photos to this forum. If you could either let me know in text format, or if you definitely want to do so in image format you can upload the image to your Media Library and I can view the image there. Just let me know which of your blogs it’s uploaded to.

Sorry about the image. It had nothing to do with the problem I'm having with my two blogs. Here is what I sent as my reply:Thank you for your response. Here is the info:
I totally signed out of http://sunshinebrightblog.wordpress.com before signing into http://pussycats3.wordpress.com in order to comment on my cat posts in answer to comments. Actually, I have 2 issues (they could be related), not just the one I posted in the forum.
First issue is the one posted in forum:
I type in my comment (response to a follower), and when I click on “comment,” I am brought to a window which tells me I cannot comment on the “Pussycats3” blog while signed into the “Sunshinebright” blog, and this pop up window asks me to sign in to my “Sunshinebright” blog so I can comment on the “Pussycats3” blog post. This doesn't make sense to me, since I have signed in to my “Pussycats3″ blog.
    Second issue:
I have found that if I go into the dashboard of my Pussycats3 blog, I am able to send my responding comment to the person who commented on my blog post. This is the only way I can contact and respond to those comments. And, Sunshinebright” blog isn't involved at all when I do this.
It would be much nicer if I could respond to comments right on my blog post, and not have to do the “go around” in order to respond to comments.
More info, just in case you need it to help solve the dilemma:
Each blog is connected to a different email address. Sunshinebright is connected to sunshinebright2014 and Pussycats3 is connected to cklc.5.38 This is the one where I found your reply in answer to my question to the forum, since I was signed in to “Pussycats3” at the time.
Thank you for your interest, and I hope you can solve the problem(s) for me.

    Hiya,

That is very strange! It sounds like your browser for some reason is holding on to the cookie for the session when you click log out for sunshinebrightblog (in other words, it isn’t logging you out entirely, which means it isn’t allowing you to log in properly for pussycats3).

Could you do me a favour and try doing the same thing using another browser, such as Google Chrome? If you haven’t already downloaded it, it is available from it’s own site on google or any browser can be linked to from:

    http://browsehappy.com/

Let me know if the same thing happens!

I will try another browser. I thought Mozilla Firefox was dependable. That's what I use – I don't use MS' Internet Explorer. I will keep in touch and let you know what happens. I much appreciate your trying to help with the problem!

Evidently I must have had some cookies that were still active. I cleared it all, and now, things are back to normal. In the future, I will not click on the “keep me signed in” box. I think that might have been part, if not the whole problem. Thanks for your help in this matter. I have continued to use Mozilla Firefox, and it wasn't my browser that was the problem. It was, as expected, me!!

Same to you. BTW, this was the first time I asked for help on the forum. I was very happy with the timely response. :-)
