Want to create a recipe index in WordPress.com

  I have a WordPress.com food blog and want to create a recipe index, one that organizes each recipe by category. But I don’t want whole posts organized in categories, just the titles, for easier browsing. Can I do this in wordpress.com? If so, can you tell me how. If not, will I be able to do this if I upgrade to wordpress.org?
