Want to create new account with email from deleted account

  Hi, I deleted the account that I created last summer to start learning. When I tried to create a new account, it tells me I cannot use that email. How do I get around this?

  Deleted accounts release the email used in 30 days. Maybe you deleted the site that was in that account but not the account itself. Did you try to login with that email at all?

  Hi, thanks, yes,
  I used the option “Close your account permanently – Delete all of your sites, and close account completely”.
  When I tried to login again, I get “Account Deleted”.

  and I can’t use the “Recover Account” option because it wants some proof of ownership.

  I created a new account with another email address.

  How long ago was it deleted? Last summer or just in the last 30 days?

  I created it last summer, but deleted it just before trying to create a new one.
  Too soon, obviously.

  I’ll just have to use the one I just created with comcast as an exercise to learn WordPress and check the availability of my gmail account a month from now.

  So it sounds like you just deleted it. You can reply back to the closure email and reopen the account. There’s no need to delete an account to start a new site. Another option is to wait out the 30 days and change this account to that email at that time.
