Want to delete a Long post off home page-but not lose it-or move under menu item

I want to keep my posts but not on the home page, just classify them under say-a sub category on the menu
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Do you want a static home page? If so then create a page with your content in it, then under settings reading select the static page option for your home page and select the page you want. Then create a custom menu with your categories. Does this help?
