want to delete child page
-
I had two home pages with identical text that I couldn’t get rid of, so I made one a child page. Which solved that problem. Now a subpage comes up in the sidebar on the parent page with text from the child page and I don’t know how to get rid of it.Any ideas?
Thanks. Gillian

Hello there,
Please the support documentation entry for hiding pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/hide-pages/#hide-from-the-pages-widget > http://support.wordpress.com/widgets/pages-widget/ -
Thanks, but what I need now is to delete the subpage that now appears. How do I do that? This is what I mean: http://gillianscobie.wordpress.com/case-studies/
Thanks.

You can delete any page or sub-page by editing and then clicking “move to trash” in the Publish module. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/#delete-pages

I don’t want to delete a whole page of my blog. I want to delete the subpage text that now appears only in the sidebar on one page as a result of creating a child page. This subpage doesn’t show up in Edit so I can’t do anything about it there.

I’m sorry I was unable to help you. I believe the theme you are using could be providing this sidebar subpage text you don’t want. However, we cannot edit templates so I’m simply replying and that will bump this thread up to the top of the forum where another Volunteer can take a stab at it.
