Want to delete my premium socialbizandtech site which I have stopped auto renwl

    HI there

    Going forward I am only keeping one of my WordPress blogs, the eyesofalens.com

    I can see the careers one has been deleted.

    Also I have requested the savourourenvironment be deleted.

    Now I have cancelled my auto renewal of the premium charge for socialbizandtech.com.

    However I want to delete that entire site! Please let me delete since I have no intention of keeping it and have cancelled the auto renewal. I don’t just want it hidden, I want it gone!

    Delete it yourself on the Dashboard Tools page.

    Thanks but I tried this and it did not work. Told me falsely because it was a premium account I could only hide it. Strange thing is that I have cancelled the auto-renewal so that should work. I have deleted all content/exported so there is absolutely no need for the site.

    Any other suggestions other than someone going in and manually removing it for me?

    See if you can cancel the domain mapping then try delete – as long as the domain mapping is active I don’t think you can delete a site

    I will flag this for the staff in case you need more help

    Thanks. How do I go into domain mapping. Is it in the Upgrade domain section?

    We need more details. What did you try? At what point in the process did the procedure fail? What did the failure look like?

    Hi

    Here is the message I get when I try to delete the site.

    Delete Site
    Warning! You cannot delete a site if it has a domain registration upgrade because you need access to the site in order to get to the domain manager.

    If you do not want to use your site any more please make it private. Other users won’t be able to visit the site but you can still access the Dashboard so you can get to the domain manager.

    If you purchased your domain through WPcom, it’s not enough to cancel Premium. Please read this http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/#troubleshooting specifically “I’m on the Delete Site page, but I see a message that the site can’t be deleted” and also: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/cancel-domain/

    Since this thread has been tagged for Staff assistance, please be patient while they work through the threads marked for assistance.

    Did all that and it did not work with the socialbizandtech.com site. I did it for two others and it worked.

    Anyway will leave it with you.

    Hi Daniel,

    I’m sorry for the frustration. As long as your site has a custom domain, the site can’t be deleted. Do you also want to cancel your domain socialbizandtech.com?

    Please keep in mind that canceling a domain means you give up ownership of that domain name. The domain name may not be released immediately, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again in the future.

    If you’d like to keep the domain and use it somewhere else, you can transfer it instead: Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

    If you’d like to cancel the domain, please let me know and I can take care of that for you. Once the domain is canceled or transferred to another registrar, you’ll be able to delete the site as usual.
