want to edit front page layout

  I want to remove some white space from my front page so people can see my blogs- otherwise they are too low down on the page. I want to remove the little like tag and white space but cannot find where I can edit the html of the front page layout

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there!

  Let’s start with an edit to your theme’s CSS code to get rid of some white space.

  If you’d like to give this a try, click Appearance → Customize in your site’s Dashboard. Then, click CSS in your right-hand menu. In the CSS Revisions box, please paste the following underneath all existing text:

  .features {
  padding: 20px;
  }

  Then Save your changes.

  I also see extra white space in the page that is taking up the first space under your header:

  Can you delete unneeded white space here, in order to impact the front page of your site? Make sure you click Update to save changes to the page.

  You may also want to take a look at your site without being logged into WordPress.com. You are seeing extra white space because of the edit buttons. Those are seen by you only, and that amount of white space isn’t seen by non-Adminstrators.

  no I didn’t- not he spacing- I figured out the menus

  Didn’t work- want to get rid of the like tab (so you can see the posts ) and the space there but tried pasting the code and had no effect

  Hi there!

  You clicked Like on your front page and it’s registering. Once you get rid of that (by clicking Like again), let me know, and once the counter is empty, we can make sure the button is hidden.

  Also, please open your site’s front page in the editor by clicking below:

  Click the Text tab.

  You will see some extraneous HTML code which is causing a lot of white space on your site. You can delete that. I’ve marked off what you can delete here:
