want to get top-level domain
-
Currently, I use the sub domain but I want to get top level domain. Here I do want to know the fact that if I buy the top level domain from WordPress.com; what is going on for the visitor with the original sub-domain address. Will it be automatically redirected to my top level domain without extra fees. And what else is going on with search engine result. Will I lose my website’s search engine rank when the domain name is changed. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi thaingwizard,
Yes, thaingwizard.wordpress.com will be redirected to the domain that you’re going to buy, without any additional fees.
I don’t have much SEO expertise, but it should remain about the same since your main (canonical) domain name will be the top level domain that you’re going to get.
Please feel free to post back if you have any further questions!

Well, no. Your pagerank begins to drop the minute you do the change, as incoming links now link to the new URL, which has zero pagerank. This gradually normalizes and after about four months it’s as if you never changed a thing (in terms of search engine optimization). So the earlier in a blog’s life you do it, the better.
It’s a hard hit to take but it is ultimately worth it.
Note that you cannot attach the custom domain to your blog without the $13 a year domain mapping. Those are the only fees that are required.
