Want to know how pages will look when I "map" my existing domain onto my WP blog
-
Hello, I would like to integrate my website (miriamseidel.com) with my blog (miriamseidel.wordpress.com). It looks like I could “map” the existing domain onto my WP domain. BUT – once I do that, how will it look? Will the template I’m using show up on every page as is, or will there be a way to customize pages, such as the About page? I like the way my WP site looks, but am not sure I want all the “bloggy” stuff on every page.
Alternatively – is it possible to have my blog redirect into my website elsewhere? I was going to rebuild it in Weebly, but really want the blog to be integrated with the rest of the site. Right now, my main website is built in Dreamweaver.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

your blog will look exactly the same – the ONLY thing that changes is the URL visitors see in their browser address bar – you will also work in the original blog dashboard for posting etc.

Thanks. And on my second question – can I maintain my WP blog as part of my existing domain? (I am currently hosted by a small local company.) Could this be handled with a subdomain? In other words, can I have a tab/page on my website that redirects to the WP blog, without the “wordpress” showing as part of the URL?

You can do do something like – blog.your-company.com (use anything you want in place of “blog” if you want) – that is mapping as a sub-domain – same cost – different instructions
