Want to know if police can monitor my blog & how

    I have a blog on wordpress.com with users I have authorized. There is an on-going unsolved murder investigation, so the police have been monitoring my blog from the outside for two years now. Recently, when I am on as administrator and checking stats to see link sources by which readers come to the blog, I click on the link and I am transported via it to what appears to be a copy of my current blog page but which also shows my account wordpress administrative toolbar at the top:

    * My Account
    * My Dashboard
    * New Post
    * Blog Info
    Now, I would like to know if the police have somehow gained access to my administrative dashboard and the administrative dashboards of my other users? Is this in any way technically possible and if so, have they done so with WordPress’s knowledge? What is the policy for law enforcement to access administrative information of wordpress.com blogs? Now, there is no criminal info on my site, because no one connected to the blog had anything to do with the murder despite whatever the police suspect, and we have merely used the blog to attempt to defend ourselves, but we don’t like the idea of the police snooping from inside? Please respond.

    Talk directly to staff, but what I suspect is that you have found a blogger that has copied your site – a scraper/splogger. Make sure and give them the URL’s of both blogs, your and the duplicate.

    I’ve dealt with the police on computer crime issues and it’s VERY unlikely that they have the savvy to do this. VERY VERY unlikely. I had to teach them. I agree with TSP that it’s probably someone’s just copying your site, possibly to put ads on and make some money.

    As far as I am aware, and I have been here several years, staff do not give out administrative data most particularly including dashboard access without a court order or the equivalent.

    The police only get involved with a court order. I’ve had to ask WordPress about this before for my own blog. But if there’s anything on the blog someone wants taken down and if they complain and goes through the proper channels, the blog is first suspended until you log in and take whatever it is down yourself. But that was my case and the details I gave.

    You can contact Support and ask them if lawyers and police contacted them about your blog. Someone’s lawyer visited my blog and I thought the blog was doomed. So I contacted WordPress and asked if anyone’s lawyer had contacted them that day about my blog and he said no.
