Want to link Facebook photos in my blog …

I think this question was raised earlier in this forum. The last one that I saw is an year old, and closed with the promise that there will be some facility provided in the wordpress.com to link with the Facebook account such that the photos can be posted in the blog as links. As we are posting photos already in Facebook, it does not make sense that we need to upload in another place again.
Need to know whether there is really any activity happening on this or whether the bloggers have found any workarounds to this.

if so, this is not a WordPress.com issue. We have no control over which images Facebook displays. We have no control over how frequently they flush their images caches. Facebook makes frequent changes. I don’t know if the following still holds true or not. What follows may ot may not be where they are at today:
Only the first five images uploaded to a post (direct inclusion/gallery/slideshow) will be sent to Facebook. The images size has to be at least 200 x 200 pixels.
To select which image will be used for things like Facebook Publicize, you can use a theme that supports featured images. http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/ If a featured image isn’t set or your theme doesn’t use featured images, then the code tries to pick the first image in the post or page. If no image is found, then the blavatar is used. http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/If what you want is only image links to appear at Facebook then you will have to post the links manually at Facebook.

I think I just confused the matter. It is not that I want to post image links in facebook. It is the other way around. I have several facebook albums with my travel photos in it. I want to link those photos so that those get displayed in my blog in wordpress.com and in a way that I should be able to choose which photos I want to post in the blog. Just the way you would post an image link from Imageshack or Flickr in your blog.

Ah … now I see what you mean. There is no means of doing that automatically at present. I’ll flag this thread so it’s moved to the Ideas Forum where we make suggestions to Staff for new features, etc.

Autoposted material is specifically not encouraged at WP.com, and I’ve seen many blogs suspended for it. If you want to post one at a time, selectively, your FB profile would have to be completely open to the public, otherwise only your Friends could see the picture if you put it in your blog. Facebook is a decent host for pictures you don’t want to lose control of (if you don’t mind FB and the government seeing them) but it’s a rotten photosharing site.
