Want to make my post private

    I have, for a long time, chosen to make my posts as well as my site private. For a time a while back I suddenly couldn’t make the ‘private’ button work; only the ‘public’ and ‘password protect’. Then after a month or so it became possible to use the ‘private’ button again and I have been for quite some time, but just now find I can’t use that button again. Not sure where the problem lies.

    I just opened your draft post in the editor and I can see the option to make the post private. Here’s a screenshot showing where that is:

    If you’re not seeing it there, can you share the following:

    * The link to the post you’re working on.
    * A screenshot of what you see in that area.

    Also, I wanted to add, did you know that you could publish your posts normally (with the public status) and make the whole site private if you want? This way, you don’t have to manually make every post private.

    If you prefer that, you can see how to make your whole site private here: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/

    When your entire site’s privacy is set to private, posts you publish with the “Public” visibility won’t be visible as your site’s privacy setting will take over.

    Thanks, admin for sharing the method to set posts of a site public or private. My site Tekken game also has posts that I need to set private. Helpful screenshots.

    https://tekkenseries.com/ is not hosted with us on WordPress.com but using the open source version of WordPress made by the community on WordPress.org. That version of WordPress doesn’t work exactly the same as WordPress.com. You won’t see any option on that site to set the entire site to private, for example, as that’s a WordPress.com-specific feature. And using a plugin like GeneratePress, as I see you’re using on that site, further changes how things work.

    So for help with that site, it will be better if you ask the WordPress.org community for advice at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    And for help with features/settings added by specific plugins, contact support for the plugin directly.
