Want to Make Separate Accounts for Two Blogs (On the Same One Now)
-
Hello. I have a blog that I’ve had up for over a year, which I haven’t posted in for quite some time, but I’d like to start it back up again. I decided to make a new blog (which is not serious at all, so it’s not like the other blog… which is why I want to keep them totally separate) and realized that they are both on one account… although I thought it would work differently… that maybe I could have different gravitars for each blog, comment as each user, etc.
So, I basically want to make my site https://sensiblemalarkey.wordpress.com it’s own site and keep my other site, https://tenaciousfollower.wordpress.com on the same account.
I tried creating a sort of ‘test’ account, to see if I could transfer my blog there. But, it won’t let me change the username to sensiblemalakey…. which is what I would want it to be.
I really don’t want to lose this URL… I’m really stuck on it and I’d rather not have to use an alternative.
Thank you so much for helping… if you need any clarification, ask away! I really want to get this thing up the way I want it!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. So, you already have the second account?
You won’t be able to change its username to match a blog that already exists. When a URL is registered the matching username is automatically reserved, and vice versa.
First, transfer the blog over to that account. After you’ve made the transfer, try changing the username again. I did it this way once and it worked for me, so hopefully it will work for you as well. Instructions to transfer the blog to a different account is here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
Even if you still can’t change the username, remember that you can always change the display name. You’ll use the username to log in, but the display name is the one that will be shown as post and comment author. http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/
