Want to Opt Out of Comment Likes

I was looking at my email settings when I noticed an option to be emailed when someone likes a comment. Oh, no. I was hoping this was to never come to be-likes for comments. Of course, I unchecked the box.
I then look through the blog settings to disable this feature on my blog, but could find none. I also could not find any likes next to comments within my blog. Where I did find this was within the Reader. Is there any way to opt out of this thing for my blog and also for any comments I leave anywhere else.
I know it seems the Reader overrides many settings we have on our blogs, but if it is possible to turn off comments on the Reader, maybe this can be done? Please. :)

You can disable Comment Likes in your Dashboard | Settings | Sharing | un-check the box next to Comment Likes Are and click Save.

Is there any way to opt out of this thing for my blog and also for any comments I leave anywhere else.
The setting in your dashboard>sharing should only affect what happens on your site. As far as comments you leave on someone else’s site, it would appear to be up to that site’s owner.
At the moment, after looking at my active sites that allow Likes, it appears that the default for “Comment Likes are” is OFF/un-checked.
As far as the Reader goes, I’m currently not seeing where one can “Like” a comment in the Reader, even if Likes are enabled on the post itself.

One of the blogs I subscribe to with the Reader had some comments and there was a little flag that I could have liked an existing comment when I looked at the Post in the reader – sorry don’t know if comment likes can be turned off

@auxclass – Thanks, now I see it. Not in the Reader “proper” but only after you click on a post title to read it in the Reader pop-up.
Sadly, the ability to Like a Post as well as Like a comment in the Reader is on, regardless of settings in the Dashboard. (Just checked against The Bloggess’ latest post.)

Thank you for the replies. I did find the setting in Sharing and saw it was unchecked. I somehow must have overlooked it earlier.
Maybe some day they will change the Reader to accept the blogger’s wishes… Not likely, but I can always hope. :)

I hope that this is changed as well because I am tired of Like Spammers being able to Like Spam/Follow Spam/Comment Spam from the Reader/et cetera without ever visiting your blog; but at this rate it does not seem that WordPress will change this, but there is some hope that this might change one day.
