Want to post an article and have it NOT go to my feed
-
I would like to post some new posts and NOT have them go to my feed. Basically, they are ‘resource’ type posts I want available on my site, but I don’t want to barrage my readers with them. I cannot find a way to do this in the help or support forums. If am wondering if I ‘pre-date’ the posts to be a year old or so, will that keep my feed from picking them up? I use FeedBurner if that matters (and could not find anything in their help about this either.) I would think this wouldn’t be that uncommon, so am surprised I didn’t find anything. Did I just miss it?

If you do have a wordpress.com blog then see >
Protected – The post is protected with a password you set. Any user that has the password can view a protected post.

Yes we can backdate or forward date posts by changing the timestamps but IMO the password protect a post option is the better choice to make.

Yes, my blog is a wordpress.com blog, http://www.mommymystic.wordpress.com . Sorry, I thought it prompted me for that when I started the thread.
I don’t actually want the posts password protected. I am going to post them on a resource page on my blog, and I want them fully accessible to anyone visiting. I just don’t want my subscribers to get a bunch of ‘new posts’ in there reader or inbox when I add these as new posts. So I am wondering if I past-date them if that will prevent them from going to my feed, i.e. does the feed only pick up things posted in the last 24 hours or something along those lines.
I guess I could also make each of these a separate page, since pages don’t go into the feed, but I really want them as posts, so they will turn up in tag and category searches etc.
Thanks-
