Want to register a blog name (URL) that was taken and deleted by previous owner

  Hello,

  I see that “http://productivitylab.wordpress.com/” shows the following content:

  “productivitylab.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this blog.”

  However, when I try to create a blog with the same name “productivitylab”, I get the message “Sorry, that site already exists!”

  How can I create a blog with the same address (i.e. I’m not looking to take over the original author’s blog, I just want the address)?

  You cannot. WordPress.com does not recycle names.
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
  You could claim a similar name by adding a number before or after it, or using 0 instead of o, 1 instead of i, and so on.

  Or if the domain name is available you could upgrade with domain mapping:
