Want to register a domain that has been deleted for 4 years
-
Hi,
I would like to register a domain that has been deleted for 4 years, according to archive.org records, but it says that domain is not available. WordPress.com documentation states that domains become available about 2 years after it was deleted.
How can I go about registering this domain?
Thank you

I would appreciate it if one of the staff members got back to me about this one.
Thank you.

The process is stated here in the second paragraph https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

Yes, I read that. Which is why I stated that your documentation states it can be recycled after 2 years. It says that domain names become available about 2 years after deletion.
This domain has been deleted for 4 years but it’s still not showing that it’s available, and the url says ‘this site has been deleted by the author’ still. Is there any process that I can do to try to get the domain since it’s been deleted for so long? It is a domain.wordpress.com name.

Hi there,
What is the URL you want to register?
Note that if the account who originally deleted that URL is still active, or if the URL matches any registered username, you will not be able to reclaim it. In that case it doesn’t matter how long ago the URL was deleted.

Okay. That address matches an existing username, so it cannot be recovered. You can see if that address is available as a custom domain instead. In that case it doesn’t matter what the underlying WordPress.com URL is.
