Want to start a second blog

I have one blog but for a variety of reasons it has sort of died so I shut it down by turning off comments on the blog. The bog is, therefore, inactive. I would like to start a new blog with a new username and completely different subject matter. Is this possible?? How do I go about it? Will it be connected with the present blog or will it have it’s own dashboard, etc?? Please help because at this point I don’t know what to do next or where to go for the info. Many thanks for your help!!!!

To find a question or comment you’ve made in the forums, click on your name at the top of the forum. Click on “Member” under the names on this forum and you’ll see their previous posts as well. -
That wasn’t quite what I was asking but OK, I’ll keep looking. Thanks for your help anyway.

The answer is in that post:
“To start a new blog with a different user name, you’ll need to use a different email address to sign up with. This will keep the two blogs completely separate. Just logout from wordpress.com and follow the instructions on the home page (http://wordpress.com).” -
