Hi there,
There is no reset button. You simply undo whatever you did. Here are some basics I will share with you.
re: front page error message found on every new .wordpress.com blog
Nothing Found
It seems we cannot find what you are looking for. Perhaps try a search? There is nothing wrong with your site. By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the front page error message and searchbox that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
For creating a post see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#publish-a-new-post
For creating a page see here

To create a custom menu see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
To add your Pages into your custom menu see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pagesFor editing see:

Hi!
I am not really sure what you meant exactly by starting over, but I can give you a few options. If you were wanting to change the name of your blog, this would be the file you want to read:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/If it’s the theme of your blog that you wanted to modify, this is where you want to go:
https://theme.wordpress.com/If you have more details on what you were hoping to do, that would be great. :)

Or perhaps this blogger simply wants to chnage themes. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
Note that every theme will have a detailed theme description page with set up instructions and a live demo site page that you can consult. Here’s an example:

All blogs are independent websites so what you do one one has no effects on any others. To delete a free hosted WordPress.COM blog you must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered a blog to delete it.
To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/Alternatively, to change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
