Want to syndicate content from own WP installation to WordPress.com

  I want to be able to use my existing WP installation to publish to both my own domain (where it’s set up) and to WordPress.com. I want to manage my posts and such from my installation, but also have them show up on a WordPress.com copy of the site. I’m really do NOT want to have to use WordPress.com to add posts and so forth.

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  I’m trying to connect brid.gy to my WordPress.com site, which is connected via JetPack to my self-hosted WP site. When I try to authorize Brid.gy, however, I get an error saying ‘Your site is incorrectly double-encoding redirects from http to https. This is preventing Jetpack from authenticating your connection. Please visit our support page for details about how to resolve this.’ I visited the support site, but none of the suggestions are useful. I don’t have the Really Simple SSL plugin, and I don’t have access to the .htaccess file at WordPress.com. I did check .htaccess at my self-hosted WP site, but it did not have the settings shown.

  Hi! Thanks for letting us know, were you planning to use Jetpack to connect your site with WordPress.com and have your posts show in the WordPress.com Reader that way?

  I notice you opened another thread regarding connecting your site; the service brid.gy isn’t one we’re familiar with, but in general for connecting with WordPress.com the process is:

  1. Install Jetpack on your WordPress site, and activate it
  2. Connect your Jetpack plugin with your account here on WordPress.com (can be started from your site’s WP Admin
  3. Optional: pick a Jetpack plan if you’d want to take advantage of features such as daily backup, or increased social shares.

  In general that’s pretty much all there is to it! Jetpack offers sharing services which you can read about both here on WordPress.com and on the Jetpack.com site:
