Want to turn post into a page
-
Hi,
i have a post “Essay:Maurice Ravel” which I want to turn into a page and place it under “Music” parent. How do I go about this?PS I downloaded a “post-type-switcher” and it’s saved under my laptop’s “download” folder. I don’t know how to use this. Basically I just wish to convert the post into a static page.
Thank you
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can create a page here:
https://shyanyiingfolkart.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page
Then, you can add the page as a submenu item here, once you create your Custom Menu:

PS I downloaded a “post-type-switcher” and it’s saved under my laptop’s “download” folder. I don’t know how to use this. Basically I just wish to convert the post into a static page.
WordPress.com does not offer the option to install third-party plugins. If you would like more control over plugins and the option to install your own, a WordPress.org setup would be the best solution for you.

https://shyanyiingfolkart.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=68&action=editinto a page?
cheers. -
You Edit it, click to the Text editor, copy everything, create a page, click to the Text editor of that new page, paste the content.

@raincoaster,thank you…
i think i was just being lazy because when i do as you suggested, it does work except i will have to re-do all the hyperlinks in my original post…something that i was hoping to avoid. Darn.
thanks anyway!
cheers. -
You should not have to redo any links if you use the TEXT editor in both cases. It’ll copy all the link code.

When you go to Edit Post, on the dashboard Edit page you’ll see the box with the post contents. On the top right hand corner of that box are two tabs: Visual and Text. Click Text. That shows you the pure HTML code.

You’re welcome. It’s a useful trick for many things, including if you put in an image and take it out and there’s the caption and border still left there. Click to the Text editor and cut it all out. Done!
